DeForest Architects announced that Melissa Nordquist and Rosie Donovan have been promoted to the role of principal, and Meredith Kelly has been named an associate.
Nordquist is a graduate of Harvard's Graduate School of Design and Williams College. In her time at DeForest, she has managed large teams on complex projects and focused on marketing and business development. As principal, she will strengthen her focus on business development and connecting with clients to further tailor the firm's services to their needs.
Donovan earned her undergraduate and master of architecture degrees from the University of Washington. She has led some of the firm's most successful projects and been instrumental in building firm culture and systems. As principal, her focus on people and firm culture will be vital to creating amazing places and experiences for clients.
Kelly received her master of architecture degree from the University of Washington, relocating to Seattle from her native Chicago. In addition to leading projects, she has played a key role in the firm's social media presence as well as hiring and internal best practices. As associate, Kelly's responsibilities will also include developing office resources and professional development.

Ethan Spiegelman and Maguire Withrow joined Kirkland-based Compass Construction as project engineers. The company also announced that Greg Hammond was promoted to senior project engineer, and Oleg Chebotarev and Sunny Fenton were promoted to project engineers. Spiegelman and Withrow are both recent graduates of the University of Washington, majoring in construction management. Spiegelman had completed multiple internships in the field prior to graduating, and Withrow completed two internships at Compass. Hammond has been with Compass since 2020 and was originally hired as a project engineer on the Yesler Terrace Phase 1 building. Both Chebotarev and Fenton joined Compass in May 2022 as field engineers, and this summer graduated from the construction management certificate program at the UW.
The inaugural Camp buildHER was recently held at the ANEW Training Center in Tukwila. The free two-day camp gave young women in grades 7-10 a unique, hands-on approach to construction careers through various projects, panels and mentorship opportunities, learning directly from women working in the industry. It was organized by the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction. More than a dozen companies participated in the camp, including McKinstry, Skanska, Andersen Construction and JTM Construction.
Washington Trust Bank added Greg Hansch to its Commercial Banking team to serve as senior vice president and relationship manager. Hansch has over 26 years of experience in financial services and commercial banking. He comes from Commencement Bank, where he was senior vice president and retail banking division manager. Hansch holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Washington University, and a master's degree in business administration from Washington State University. He also is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School, and is involved with multiple community and professional organizations, including the Risk Management Association and Tacoma Rising. Spokane-based Washington Trust Bank has over 40 branches and offices in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
D.A. Davidson & Co. announced that Brian Holland is rejoining its Equity Capital Markets group as a managing director and senior research analyst covering food and beverage. As the fifth senior hire to join D.A. Davidson's Equity Capital Markets' Institutional Equities team this year, Holland most recently spent over two years with TD Cowen covering sustainable food and healthy living. Previously, he covered food and beverage companies at Janney Capital Markets and Consumer Edge Research. Holland has been ranked as a Top Earnings Estimator in the food products sector by Thomson Reuters, and graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor's degree in finance. With a senior team of approximately 20 research analysts that cover over 500 public and private companies, D.A. Davidson's Equity Capital Markets group offers expertise to middle-market companies across four industries of focus: consumer, diversified industrials, financial institutions, and technology. Health care technology company CalmWave appointed Dr. Richard Schaefer, chief health informatics officer of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, to its board of advisors. Schaefer has spent over 20 years leveraging emerging technologies in the development of end-to-end health care technology solutions, including looking at the intersection of AI and clinical practice. He has written and published studies on clinical evidence-based medicine that highlight the criticality of transparent AI in clinical applications. Schaefer is also a funded investigator on multiple proposals regarding AI assessments in veterans. CalmWave, headquartered in Seattle, has raised a pre-seed round of funding led by Bonfire Ventures with participation from Tau Ventures, AI2 Incubator, Seachange Ventures, Hike Ventures, and the co-founders of PagerDuty.

Cyemptive Technologies, a provider of preemptive cybersecurity solutions for business and government, named retired U.S. Navy Commander Vince Dova as vice president of security. Dova is the former branch chief for Cyber Policy and Capabilities at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he advised on cyber-related matters such as military network defense and cybersecurity for the Defense Industrial Base and Defense Critical Infrastructure. At Cyemptive, Dova is responsible for the security of intellectual property and client data, developing organizational and technical governance to enable the secure delivery of cybersecurity solutions to its customer base, and planning security-relevant training/certification for company and client workforces. A 20-year veteran of the Navy, Dova earned his wings as a helicopter pilot and was deployed all over the world. He taught flight school, investigated aviation mishaps, managed air defense for a carrier strike group in the Gulf and earned a master's degree in computer network operations. Cyemptive is headquartered in Snohomish.

Leveraging The Trade Desk's platform, ZoomInfo has expanded its omnichannel ad network to access more premium publishers and deliver display, video and audio ads internationally for the first time. Seattle-based Celo announced that Highland Home Carers, an independent provider of home care and support services in Scotland, will implement Celo's messaging platform across its operations in the Highlands area. Celo offers a secure messaging platform that enables health care teams to collaborate on patient care. The platform requires no training and is available on iOS, Android and desktop. Highland Home Carers employs over 250 staff, delivering long-term complex care.
