ULI: will millennials start buying houses?

SEATTLE — The millennial generation is driving much of the apartment construction in Seattle, but in a few years will they still be renters, or will they start buying houses?

Urban Land Institute Northwest is holding a Millennial Housing Trends forum at 4 p.m. Wednesday on the 51st Floor of Two Union Square, 601 Union St.

The forum will look at the common assumptions about young professionals, and how their preferences will change as they age.

Ali Modarres, director of urban studies at the University of Washington Tacoma, is the main speaker. There will also be a panel discussion with Skylar Olson of Zillow, Danny Kruse of Wells Fargo, Ashley Hayes of Seattle Rental Group and Scott Bonjukian, a University of Washington urban planning student.

Online registration closes Tuesday. For more information, ULI can be reached at Northwest@uli.org or (206) 224-4500.
