The Heron Flats + Lofts will bring 95 new apartments to Redmond

Construction is set to begin today on The Heron Flats + Lofts, a 95-unit apartment complex in downtown Redmond.

MainStreet Property Group is developing the project at 7662 159th Pl. N.E., right next door to The Carter on the Park, another MainStreet project that will open this fall with 180 apartments.

Heron will open in fall 2017, according to a press release.

GGLO designed both Heron and Carter, and W.G. Clark Construction Co. is the general contractor for both.

Heron will have two seven-story structures separated by a landscaped courtyard. An atrium lounge will have a coffee bar in the morning and a wine bar in the evening. Other amenities will include a full demonstration kitchen, outdoor barbecue area, rooftop garden and gym.

MainStreet's website said it is also working on apartment projects in Bothell and Kenmore.
