Construction is slated to begin this winter on Gerrish Hall, an eight-story apartment project at 1820 Boylston Ave. on Capitol Hill in Seattle.
NK Architects is designing the 55-unit project for a site two blocks from a recently opened light rail station in the neighborhood.
The project's developer and owner is Capitol Hill Lofts LLC, a partnership between Christopher Hall and Josh Fletcher.
The apartment mix is 44 one-bedrooms, nine two-bedrooms, and two two-bedroom penthouses.
Interior glass walls will separate bedrooms from living areas and sliding doors will open to private balconies.
The penthouses will have a large kitchen, living area and master suite, and one will have access to a private rooftop deck.
In a press release, NK said its design will capitalize on the building's central location with added stories, including a recessed top floor that creates space for a common rooftop amenity area.
The indoor/outdoor amenity room will have a television and a kitchen with La Cantina folding doors that open to a rooftop deck with a fire pit.
NK said the 43,270-square-foot building will have 11 affordable units and meet the city's affordable housing planning initiatives for transit-oriented developments.
It will be designed to Built Green 4-star certification.
The team includes FAUL, owner's representative; DCI Engineers, structural engineer; Sitewise Design, civil engineer; CT Engineering, shoring engineer; Geotech Consultants, geotech engineer; Tree Solutions, arborist; Heffron Transportation, traffic consultant; Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, land use attorney; and Karen Kiest Landscape Architects.
