Selig shows his new Uptown office project

Renderings show a dramatic three-story notch on one corner of the building planned for 401 Queen Anne Ave. N.

Martin Selig Real Estate confirmed plans for a new six-story office building at 401 Queen Anne Ave. N., as the DJC first reported on Wednesday.

Selig shared some early renderings of the project, which will be designed by Perkins + Will. It hasn't yet entered design review.

The images show a dramatic three-story notch on the southeast corner (at West Harrison Street). A penthouse and rooftop deck are also indicated.

It also appears there will be a long, skinny terrace facing east on the fourth-floor level.

The size of the project and renderings make fairly clear that Selig controls two parcels that total some 28,740 square feet. Selig has long owned the south parcel; the north parcel was purchased last year by an opaque LLC for $5.45 million. Two old buildings and a parking lot will be removed.

Underground parking for 156 vehicles is indicated. The total size, including some possible retail, will be about 240,000 square feet.

No start date has been announced for 401 Queen Anne.

Selig is also working on:

• Plans for a 15-story office and apartment building at 815 Western Ave., on what is known as the Commuter Building block, near the ferry terminal. The project is now also using 75 Marion St. as an address. It may be called The Windermere Building. Perkins + Will and Jim Olson, of Olson Kundig Architecture, are designing the project.

• Lease Crutcher Lewis has begun preliminary work on an addition to the landmarked Federal Reserve Bank building, at 1015 Second Ave. That project, designed by Perkins + Will, will be 11 stories.

• Plans are well advanced for the landmarked Firestone building, at 400 Westlake Ave. N., which will have 15 or 16 stories. Perkins + Will is the architect.

• Selig's 3+V high-rise office and apartment tower, at 1927 Third Ave., is currently in design review. Perkins + Will is designing that tower.
