Durkan will submit $90M plan for low-income housing at Fort Lawton

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan soon will advance the city's long-delayed plan to convert unused land next to Discovery Park into more than 200 affordable homes.

The Seattle Times reports that for a decade, legal challenges and economic forces have stymied efforts to redevelop Fort Lawton in Magnolia. But a ruling last year cleared the way for Seattle to move ahead with a plan that the city now estimates could cost about $90 million.
