Here's a first look at the 120-room hotel proposed for Ballard Blossom site

No brand or operator has been announced for the seven-story hotel.

As the DJC first reported two years ago, a hotel will replace Ballard Blossom, at 1766 N.W. Market St. in downtown Ballard. The 13,600-square-foot midblock property sold in March for $6.6 million to an LLC associated with Piramco, a hotel developer based in Kent.

Clark Barnes is designing the hotel, which has its first design review at 6:30 p.m. May 20 at Ballard Community Center, 6020 28th Ave. N.W.

The proposal matches the new zoning: seven stories, 85 feet tall and 120 rooms. One level of underground parking for 30 vehicles will be accessible from the alley to the north.

Clark Barnes' preferred scheme has outdoor plazas on the hotel's east and west corners along Market. The entrance would be on the east corner. A bar/lounge/lobby would face the street. No hotel brand or operator is named.

The rough project size is listed at 61,100 square feet, excluding the parking. The site is close to all the Market Street shops and restaurants, opposite the Swedish Ballard Campus, and walkable to Old Ballard.
