Street rename for LGBTQ advocate

SEATTLE — Mayor Jenny Durkan announced she has sent legislation to the City Council to rename part of a Capitol Hill street after Barbara Baily, a civil rights champion who died in 2018.

The portion of East Denny Way between Broadway East and 10th Avenue East would be called Barbara Bailey Way. The block is near the site of Baily's former business, Baily/Coy Books.
