Eastside vehicle testing sites sell for $6.7M

    Applus Technologies, where you may take your older model car for emissions testing one last time this year, will soon have some surplus land, and it's begun selling.

    King County recorded two sales to local auto dealer Al Monjazeb this week. Brokers were not announced. More sales may follow by Jan. 1, 2020 — when state Department of Ecology-required emissions testing will end. Testing began in 1982, but the state had determined that modern cars are so much cleaner now, and that such testing is no longer required for registration and new tabs.
