Board OKs citizenM Pioneer Square hotel

SEATTLE — The Pioneer Square Preservation District board voted unanimously on Wednesday to approve the planned new hotel at 60 Yesler Way, which will replace a parking lot.

The 10-story building, with about 216 rooms and a ground-floor restaurant/bar, is being designed by Gensler for citizenM, the Dutch boutique hotel chain. Mortenson will be the general contractor.
