Building eyed for Georgetown

SEATTLE — The owner of a vacant corner at 5601 Second Ave. S. in Sodo is planning to put up a new industrial building. Johnson & Oaklief filed the early plan for a five-story 60,000-square-foot office/warehouse building with one caretaker unit.

The corner at South Findlay Street is owned by the president of Columbia Fire, which has its offices next door. The parcel has about 16,400 square feet. That and the office building sold in 2013 and 2017 for about $2.7 million. The property is a little west of downtown Georgetown.
