Apartments planned for steep slope on Dexter clear a key permit hurdle

The design by d/Arch divides the building into three boxes that stair-step up Garfield Street.

The steep slope at 1601 Dexter Ave. N. slowed planning for a mid-rise apartment project there. However, Seattle's Department of Construction and Inspections finally issued a SEPA determination of non-significance, which clears the final hurdle to a master user permit.
