More apartments, hotel rooms in updated Seattle tower plan

The 16-story tower design by B+H Architects hikes the number of hotel rooms from 122 to 246, and apartments from 35 to 49. Room sizes will be smaller, though.

Two mostly vacant downtown Seattle buildings are slated for demolition at 1520 Fifth Ave., where a new hotel is planned by the property owner. The Al Zarooni family paid $19 million for the midblock assemblage in 2018. The clan, with its eponymous development arm, is part of the ruling family of Dubai.
