A cafe is programmed for the ground-floor commercial bay, but it’s unknown if Rain City Burgers would return to the new building after construction.

Four years ago, the Rain City Burgers corner, at 6501 Roosevelt Way N.E., sold for about $1.3 million to local investor/developer Jim Snelling. He and B9 Architects received a master use permit this spring for a planned seven-story, 20-unit apartment building.
