PMF tops marina with solar panels

PMF Investments of Bellevue announced the recent completion of a $250,000 project at its Kirkland Homeport Marina. Most prominent is a 310-panel solar energy system, which is expected to produce over 118,000 kilowatts per year. PMF says that, over 25 years, it will save the equivalent to 2,000 tons of coal. New LED lighting and water conservation measures were also part of the green overhaul. PMF's team included Forecast Solar, Sequoyah Electric (general contractor), NKH Engineering (structural) and Flynn Commercial Roofing. The family-run company's Brian Franklin said in a statement, “We are a second-generation local developer, and care deeply about the long-term health of our region. Sustainable investments like these align with our family's mission and vision for how we can best operate in the region.” PMF acquired the 115-slip marina complex in 2015; it was developed by the Stabbert family in 1976, then renovated circa 2005. It also includes offices and Anthony's Homeport in a 36,0000-square-foot building.
