Gemdale buys second SLU site for $24M, with new office tower planned

As the DJC first reported in January, Gemdale USA filed an early plan to buy and redevelop the old Quality Inn, east of Seattle Center at 618 John St. The motel sold last week for $24.3 million, according to King County records. The buyer of record was 618 John Street LLC, which is associated with Gemdale. A 10-story office building is planned, with no architect yet on file.
