The trestle dates to 1904, and extends about 1,000 feet. The last actual train crossing came circa 2007.

The city of Bellevue received a final application from King County this summer to renovate and construct about a 2-mile portion of Eastrail. It extends north from roughly Interstate 90 to the Lake Hills Connector, and includes the famous, century-old Wilburton Trestle. (Eastrail, when complete, will extend some 42 miles from Renton up to Snohomish County; much of it is already open to cyclists, runners and walkers.)
