More demo in Uptown, with 113 units eventually to follow

After the apartments are cleared, the former Tup Tim Thai building (red, above the white pickup truck) appears to be next on the demolition list.

SRM Development secured its master use permit in July for one its two planned apartment buildings, both on the same block, in the Uptown neighborhood. For the southwest corner project, aka the former Tup Tim Thai corner at 118 W. Mercer St., one small building was removed a while back. Then Seattle Fire Department began using — or burning, actually, in a controlled fashion — the vacant Uptown Studios building in a weeks-long training exercise this fall.
