Tiny house village opens in Olympia

OLYMPIA — A new Tiny House Village is now open at 528 Franz Anderson Road S.E. in Olympia. The village provides shelter for 50 individuals that were previously living in encampments along Interstate 5.

The enhanced shelter is operated by Olympia Mutual Aid Partners on land owned by the city of Olympia. The city purchased the land for the village in early 2022 in response to the state's Rights-of-Way Safety Initiative (ROW), which provided funding for projects that would bring people into shelter from the state's rights of way.
