Description
The Samaritan Hospital modernization and expansion project involves improvements in the physical plant infrastructure, especially the mechanical and electrical equipment and distribution system. Areas of new construction include a new kitchen and dining area, an intensive care unit, pharmacy and laboratory, an education and conference center, shelled space for future clinical services, and, in cooperation with Grant County, a morgue. Remodeled and expanded areas include rooms for post-partum care, labor and delivery, medical and surgical rooms, radiology, and emergency rooms. The main lobby and admitting areas are also being remodeled and expanded. Of the existing hospital’s 83,800 square feet, 60,000 square feet will be added, and 60,000 square feet will be remodeled. Major new additions include a five-level tower of about 40,000 square feet, and expansion to the east wing of the facility.
