Description
The design of the 239,000 square foot University High School is centered around a spacious, two-story commons area. The school contains around 75 classroom spaces, a gymnasium, field house and 575-seat theatre, in addition to specialized spaces for computer engineering, automotive engineering, material sciences, computer-aided drafting, and radio/TV production. The chiefly brick exterior is broken up by large expanses of glass at the four main entrance points which also serve to introduce light into the center of the highly compact building in an inviting and dramatic way. University High School is the mirror image of Central Valley High School – both schools replace existing high schools and are based upon the same architectural design.
