Description
The Tacoma Link light rail segment is a major part of Sound Transit’s regional transportation infrastructure project.

The 1.6-mile segment will run from the downtown area to the Tacoma Dome Transit Center and Freighthouse Square, and will connect regional bus routes with Amtrak and commuter trains at the Tacoma Dome Station.

Gary Merlino Construction is undertaking the work of building and installing embedded track, demolishing the 25th Street Bridge and reconstructing the vaulted sidewalks on East 25th Street. The project also includes large-scale infrastructure modifications to the city’s utilities, and relocation of a number of private utilities.
