Description
The United States Postal Service’s Distribution Center, built originally in 1954, will be substantially demolished and converted to a central administrative support center to service the Seattle School District’s regional activities more effectively.

The original post office complex will undergo a complete renovation and build-out, and will be seismically upgraded in concrete and steel. A facilities maintenance building, part of the original post office complex, will be renovated, and a new kitchen for bulk food preparation will be built.

The school district’s administrative offices are currently scattered throughout the city. This new facility will consolidate them in a 325,000-square-foot central administrative and operations center.
