Description
Snohomish County’s $167 million campus redevelopment includes a multi-story detention facility, 160,000-square-foot administration building and 1,200-car parking garage.
The 243,000-square-foot jail complex will contain 640 beds and be connected to the county courthouse by a transportation tunnel. It will be supported by a below-grade utility plant. Once the new jail is built, two floors in the old jail will be remodeled to house a work-release program.
Work on the jail and garage began last summer. The administration building isn’t expected to get under way until next November. The parking garage will be finished first, next November, followed by the rest of the project in December 2004.
