#4. King County Courthouse seismic upgrades

Description
The project includes seismic upgrades with passive energy dissipation devices, including yielding braces and fluid viscous dampers; installation of new fire sprinklers throughout the building; and code compliance measures including stairwell pressurization, elevator rehabilitation, ADA compliance work and upgrades to the building security system.

As with any seismic retrofit project, extensive preconstruction services were required. In-depth pre-planning was also essential to ensure building occupants are not impacted as the project progresses.
