Description
While there are similar facilities in the region, the Everett Regional Events Center is the first of its kind for Everett. The facility will be a source of energy for the surrounding commercial and leisure markets and will be a catalyst for the development and renewal of the city’s downtown.

PCL and its design team were chosen to provide an arena that services large events but provides civic services with its integral public ice facility.

The 8,000-seat hockey arena will also have the ability to be configured into a 10,000-seat concert venue. In addition to general patron seating, the facility will include club seating and two levels of private suites. Support areas will include food service preparation and concession stands, a club lounge, team facilities, meeting facilities, and back-of-house and physical plant facilities.

The project includes a 50,000-square-foot attached building which will contain office space, meeting rooms, a grand ballroom, a 5,000-square-foot kitchen and retail space.

In addition to hockey, the arena is designed to host various events such as garden and trade shows, rodeos, monster trucks shows, graduation ceremonies, and other sporting competitions. An enclosed second sheet of ice will be provided for public skating.

PCL is currently on schedule, with the main structure nearly complete. Upon completion in fall 2003, the Everett Special Events Center will be the home of the Everett Silvertips, a new Western Hockey League team.
