Description

The Interlake project will replace nine structures on the campus with one large interconnected building. It is being built in two phases to best use the summer construction season.

Cornerstone Construction performed the first phase in spring 2003 by modifying internal traffic patterns, paving an existing parking lot and adding stormwater retention systems. Work included data and power infrastructure upgrades, and re-routing many of these systems in preparation for the second phase. Work was also performed on the technology building.

Lydig Construction started the second phase in April 2004. It consists of 86,000 square feet of demolition and construction of the new interconnected building, bringing the total area to 220,000 square feet.

There are seven components to the second phase: classrooms and library; main gymnasium and locker rooms; building services and kitchen; performing arts center and music rooms; administration and visual arts; commons; and landscaping and courtyard.
