Site work includes relocating existing utilities, new parking areas and other improvements. The two buildings will create a new compound between the Washington State Reformatory main facility and the special offenders unit. After the compound is finished, a new access route from inside the main reformatory will be created by removing a portion of existing perimeter wall and adding a secure auto and pedestrian area. The project is targeted to achieve a silver LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
