Project description: Mercer Island High School's modernization will transform the school into a 21st century teaching facility designed to accommodate changes in teaching methods and a growing student population. It will feature a long spine connecting the primary areas of the school, including classrooms, art and music departments, student commons, the library, theater and gymnasium. Several new areas will be created, including a student commons and outdoor amphitheater, a 600-seat theater, and administrative and counseling offices. The building's exterior will be clad in traditional red brick.
