The Block children posed in front of a closed Lake Washington as part of a 1958 campaign to form Metro. Thirty years later, they returned as grown ups for this publicity shot. Metro built a sewer system that ended discharges into the lake and treated effluent entering Puget Sound. The project was one of 12 selected by ACEC members as the most significant over the past 50 years.
