The ceremony honored 39 projects for a wide range of engineering achievements. ACEC Washington’s top six award winners (one platinum and five gold) will go on to compete in the ACEC national competition in Washington, D.C., in April.

MKA earned its Platinum Award for a flexible truss structural design in a new terminal at the Mineta San Jose (Calif.) International Airport. Four projects won national silver awards. Best-in-state awards were also given to local projects.

The four-judge panel included Ken Wightman, CEO of David Evans Enterprises; Amy Haugerud, former chairwoman of the ACEC Washington board of directors; George Shaw, a partner at LMN Architects; and Lucy Bodilly, a construction writer.

ACEC Washington is a professional trade association representing consulting engineering, land surveying and affiliated scientific and planning firms statewide.
