The demolition and abatement of the 74-year-old Seattle Opera House to make way for Marion Oliver McCaw Hall was challenging due to a highly compressed and linked schedule, extreme technical complexity, and the constant need to revise plans and schedules for unforeseen field conditions. Construction, demolition and abatement work was interlinked and done simultaneously. About 95 percent of materials were recycled, exceeding the 75 percent contract requirement. Despite the challenges and complexity, Nuprecon met or exceeded schedules and budgets, and the finished product exceeded the quality expectation of the client. |
