Aecon field employees are required to conduct daily pre-task planning to avoid accidents.

Aecon has implemented a strict approach to subcontractor management, including a pre-construction orientation to Aecon’s safety program and comprehensive training on site-specific plans.

Every project manager in the company is OSHA 30-hour trained. New project engineers, superintendents and forepersons are provided this training within their first year at Aecon. All field lead personnel are OSHA 10-hour trained at a minimum.

The company recently held a corporate-wide safety day where every owner, subcontractor and employee gathered to focus on safety and teamwork. Due to its success, safety day has become the company’s newest annual risk-reduction tool.

Aecon holds weekly crew safety meetings. The company’s inspection policy has made significant improvements in hazard recognition by the entire project tem, including management and trades.

Aecon field employees are required to conduct daily pre-task planning that not only avoids accidents and low morale, but ensures that tasks are completed with the right personnel and equipment.
