With its multifaceted and employee-run community service program, BNBuilders received the first-ever AGC-Moss Adams Service to the Community Award.

“Moss Adams shares AGC’s core value of improving the quality of life in our communities,” said Elaine Ervin, partner and Washington leader of the construction-industry group at Moss Adams, which is sponsoring the award.

“We are excited to recognize BNBuilders’ extraordinary efforts with this award and applaud the many construction companies that make our communities stronger, healthier and more enjoyable,” she said.

The judges felt that all of the applicants have made significant contributions, and that BNBuilders’ community spirit rose to the top because it has been so integrated into the company culture. Its employee-run community-involvement team meets throughout the year to coordinate activities and recruit volunteers for BNBuilders’ community outreach efforts with an annual budget funded by the company. They have done everything from organizing school supply drives to raising awareness of juvenile diabetes.

BNBuilders provided a children’s therapeutic garden for the Experimental Education Unit at the University of Washington and a sensory garden at the Sorenson Early Childhood Center in Bothell.

“BNBuilders illustrates to all of us what we can do when we work together in our community,” said Ervin.
