Sicklesteel Cranes shares its expertise in crane safety to help improve safety records throughout the industry.

A major contributing factor to the success of Sicklesteel Cranes’ safety program is its strict and comprehensive employee orientation program.

The program is divided into four segments, which include hazardous communications and a master driver series for commercial driver’s license holders. At the end of each segment new employees must take and pass written tests before they can begin work.

Sicklesteel’s companywide focus on safety begins with top management. Management makes sure that any safety-related corrective actions are taken not just by employees but by managers as well.

Top leaders at Sicklesteel are attentive to employee concerns and regularly participate in safety meetings with workers. For years, AGC Safety Team member Sicklesteel Cranes has shared its expertise in crane safety, helping to improve safety records throughout the industry.

Sicklesteel is a leader in the creation and implementation of crane industry standards B30.5-2007, state and federal crane rules, and crane safety legislation. Sicklesteel’s philosophy is to hold itself to these higher standards first, before they are adopted industrywide. This keeps Sicklesteel on the leading edge of safety practices.
