The Woomer residence was built with insulating concrete forms.

Woomer residence

Location: Tacoma
Owner/developer: Ken and Niki Woomer
Project team: Leprechaun Construction, general and concrete contractor, designer; Terry Nettles, structural engineer; Glacier Northwest, ready-mix supplier

Insulating concrete form walls were used to give this home protection from high winds and strong storms that sometimes hit the Browns Point area of Tacoma. The system also was selected for its energy conserving properties.

The home has a wrap-around cobble stamp finish on the driveway and a walkway that leads to a swimming pool. A metal pan deck was used over the garage. Radiant heating systems were installed in concrete decks on the bottom and middle floors.

Also, a decorative stamp was used on the home’s wine cellar.
