Island Hospital’s Sleep Center was built with insulating concrete forms, which are efficient at shutting out noise.

Sleep Center at Island Hospital

Location: Anacortes

Owner/developer: Challenge Developments III

Project team: Crest Construction, general contractor; Bell Construction, ICF contractor; C.B. Anderson Architects, architect; DCI Engineers, structural engineer; Skagit Ready Mix, ready-mix supplier

Insulating concrete forms were selected for this sleep clinic because of their sound-insulating qualities. ICF blocks were used up to the roof line of the building, allowing the project to be quickly finished.

Additional benefits of the ICF system included its high insulation value, durability and safety qualities.
