Strand Hunt Construction The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington chose seven projects as winners in its 2004 Excellence in Construction Awards. The contractors that built the projects were honored last night at a banquet in Seattle, including Strand Hunt Construction, which took home the Eagle of Excellence top prize. “This year’s submissions reflect the high standards of construction that emerge when contractors and subcontractors are selected on the basis of merit — qualifications, performance and price,” said David Howell, 2003-04 ABC chair and Washington state district manager of Tradesmen International. “From large-scale public construction, and new commercial construction to renovation, the entrants exemplify the versatility and skill of ABC members.” Judges for this year’s contest included: Phil Brown of the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce; Jay Janette of Mithun; David Glassman of Mulvanny G2; Ron Rochon of Miller/Hull; John E. Schaufelberger of the Department of Construction Management at the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning; and Jeff Jeffers and Bob Steinmann of CollinsWoerman. |
