Work for PCL Construction has “picked up tremendously,” according to Kurt Boyd, manager of business development at the district office in Bellevue.

The local office continues to find work in its niche — air traffic control towers. The office worked on the towers at Sea-Tac and Portland International, and is doing another in Billings, Mont.

The office, which is in charge of work in the Northwest, Hawaii and Alaska, has been awarded for its design-build work. “Work, in general, in Seattle has been picking up,” said Boyd. “Over the last year, we’ve had over $450 million of work on the tables.”

The office’s Hawaiian work includes Kahala Nui Senior Living Community and a Marriott Vacation Club International, both in Honolulu. The office also finished the Small Arms Training Center at Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Kitsap County.
