WJA Design Collaborative clients include private corporations and public and government agencies, including the state of Washington, U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army Corps of Engineers.

Staffing and work volume has remained constant at WJA in the last year. Active government contracts have not experienced the downturn felt by the rest of the economy, according to President Dan Callan. Staff size has risen by two to 27, with estimated gross fees this year of $3.8 million.

WJA's projects include master planning, dormitories and family housing; education and training facilities; and operations and administrative facilities. Now, the firm is working to translate a portfolio of training and dormitory facilities for the Department of Defense into the public higher education venue.

Recent work includes the Child Development Center at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana; the Green River Community College master plan in Auburn; the Performing Arts Center and plaza, Green River Community College.
