Ron Bard, manager of civil engineering design for the Bellevue office of Sverdrup Civil, said the firm is very busy and hiring additional staff.
"We'd hire more people if there were people available," he said.
Sverdrup has offices in Olympia, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, as well as Arizona and California. It recently was purchased by Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., of Pasadena, Calif.
In the Northwest, Bard said the firm has a full plate of projects. Among them are a streambed and bank restoration for a King County park in Bellevue; a water-supply project in Issaquah that routes discharged coolant water from a Darigold plant to the state fish hatchery for egg incubation; and flood control engineering with water districts in King County.
