SEATTLE LIBRARY OFFERS ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCEJournal staff The Seattle Public Library has an Environmental Information Center on the second floor of the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Avenue. The center is jointly administered by the Business & Technology and the Science & Social Sciences Departments. Smaller environmental collections were also set up at the West Seattle, Rainier Beach, Northeast and Ballard neighborhood libraries. The center houses many resources of interest to the business community. These include current magazines and journals; directories of environmental products and services; environmental engineering handbooks; and environmental law guides. Many of these titles were purchased through a gift from the Herrera Foundation. The center also includes a bulletin board with environmentally-related announcements. This fall library staff will be offering a free class on searching for environmental Internet sites in the library's new Community Learning Lab funded by Microsoft. For more information or to register, call the Business & Technology Department at 386-4645. You can also visit the Environmental Information Center's page on the Seattle Public Library's Homepage.
