Founder: Terry Rahe
Location: Albany, Ore., with offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana
Specialty: Resource/wastewater management engineering consulting, serving agriculture, industry and government

Cascade Earth Sciences was founded by soil scientist Terry Rahe to provide a technical resource for managing industrial and municipal wastes, conducting environmental impact assessments, and designing and managing re-use systems.

CES is the earth sciences division of Valmont Industries, specializing in land application of process water, effluent and confined animal feeding operation wastes. Re-use of nutrient-rich waste materials benefits a variety of crops, lowers fertilizer costs and limits wastewater discharge. The company specializes in waste management and treatment systems that are based on naturally occurring and environmentally sound processes.

There are economic advantages to using wastewater to irrigate crop or pasture land: the systems are less costly to build, and easier and less expensive to operate. CES has completed more than 500 projects around the world using wastewater for irrigation.

With offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, CES serves clients including federal government, local municipalities, food processing, mining, agribusiness and forest products industries.
