The Highridge Corp.

President: Phil Schuetz
Year Founded: 1985

Highridge is a landscape construction firm specializing in design, irrigation design and backflow assembly inspection, garden structures, outdoor lighting and landscape maintenance. The largest current projects include Issaquah Highlands for Port Blakely, which includes installation of streetscapes, parks, and wetlands.

The Highridge Corp. now employs 200 people with offices in Issaquah and Hillsboro, Ore. Revenues increased in 1998 over 1997 by 28 percent.

Project types range from multi-family residential projects, schools, recreational areas and retail facilities to wetland restoration. Landscape maintenance is also provided for these types of projects.

In 1998 Highridge recieved the MAME award for Best Entrance for a Residential Community at Silverleaf, an Intracorp development.

Highridge expects sustained economic growth into the year 2000. As new growth slows, the company plans to bring greater emphasis to its custom design/build landscapes for private individuals.

The competition for construction laborers in the Seattle region is a challenge for landscape contractors, according to Dennis King of Highridge. In response, Highridge offers competitive benefits and helps company foremen and leadmen to achieve Certified Landscape Technician Status from the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals.
