Business for R.W. Thorpe and Associates has steadily increased over the last four years. The firm anticipates adding one or two more members to the current staff of 10 in 1999 and expanding office space.

Current landscape architecture and permitting projects include golf courses, memorial gardens, assisted living centers, stores and restaurants. Projects include O.B. Sports Trophy Lake and Washington National Golf Courses. Another major client is Starbucks, for which R.W. Thorpe provides site selection, permitting and landscape services in four Northwest states.

The firm has been involved in several 500-acre to 2,000-acre master planned communities located in Washington, Colorado, Alaska and other Western states in the last few years. In addition, the firm advises small cities on planning, landscape and environmental regulations. Project construction costs range from a few thousand to several million dollars.
