Exterior materials for the $30.5 million Laura Angst Hall include brick, metal, glass and concrete.

Laura Angst Hall at Skagit Valley College serves as a symbol for the revitalization of the 50-year-old campus and creates a gateway to the college from the Mount Vernon community.

The 65,000-square-foot, two-story building provides modern laboratories and classrooms supporting programs in physical and environmental sciences, nursing and health occupations. The plan centers on a two-story lobby opening to a rain garden, which also provides a place for student interaction and informal learning.

Exterior materials relate to the campus and feature a combination of brick, metal, glass and concrete. The project will achieve LEED gold certification.
