Brix demonstrates a high-density model for urban living by transforming the site of a defunct supermarket into a vibrant mixed-use development.

The brick exterior allows the introduction of a pressure-equalizing “rain screen” chamber. The choice of two different bricks gives the east and west buildings their own identities. If you didn’t know that the two buildings shared a courtyard and common ownership, you may think that they are more than one development.

An interior Anhalt-style courtyard complements the scene, creating a garden sanctuary shared equally by residents.
