Tacoma will get the region's first taste of transit improvements when the Tacoma Dome station opens in October.
It will initially serve local and commuter bus routes and inter city buses. Commuter rail and light rail platforms will be added to the station.
The 12-bay bus station includes covered waiting areas, ticketing and informational kiosks. Earmarked to be built in phases, the parking garage will include retail space, a pedestrian skybridge and other amenities.
