Project description: Construction of a new 120,000-square-foot junior high school for 1,000 students in grades 7-9. Building is steel and masonry, with the exterior primarily concrete masonry in a variety of textures and colors. An exterior insulation and synthetic plaster system is used on the balance of the walls at fascias and soffits. The roof is asphalt shingles with some modified bitumen. Most academic teaching stations are clustered on the upper floor of the building to provide for a "school with a school" concept. The gymnasium, LRC, commons and computer spaces are zoned for easy access by the public, allowing the balance of the facility to be secured in off hours.
