Corgan explores mass timber's hidden emissions

Local mass timber projects include Northlake Commons, designed by Weber Thompson, which is Seattle’s first mass timber life-science building.

Global architecture and design firm Corgan, which recently opened its first Pacific Northwest office in Bellevue, has released new research addressing mass timber biogenic carbon emissions. The report reveals that mass timber carbon emissions are higher than previously thought but that even in worst-case scenarios, mass timber accounts for lower embodied carbon values than concrete or steel structures.
